Data Scientist

This role is based in Timisoara, Romania, within a growing software development organisation that serves a global client base. The Data Scientist will analyse large structured and unstructured datasets using machine learning, AI, data mining, and statistical methods to produce actionable insights. Day-to-day work spans the full data pipeline: sourcing and preprocessing data, building predictive models, and communicating findings through visualisation. The position requires close collaboration with both client-facing and internal engineering teams to address real business problems.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret large structured and unstructured datasets
• Identify and gather data from relevant internal and external sources
• Preprocess and clean data to ensure quality and usability
• Design and build machine learning models, algorithms, and predictive systems
• Present findings and insights through data visualisation tools and reports
• Collaborate with client and internal engineering teams to define and solve business challenges

Requirements

• Proven experience in data science, including designing data models, algorithms, and predictive systems
• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques
• Proficiency in Python or R
• Experience with data science toolkits such as NumPy, MatLab, or Weka
• Experience with data visualisation tools
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or HBase
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
