AI transparency

How AI is used in your application

Last updated 2026-01-01.

The short version

AI helps recruiters work faster and more fairly. Humans make every decision that affects your candidacy — whether you progress, get rejected, or get an offer. AI never decides on its own.

Where AI is used

  • Extracting structured data from your CV.When you upload a CV, an LLM may pull out fields like current employer, years of experience, education, and skills, so the recruiter doesn’t have to retype them. The recruiter always sees both your raw CV and the extracted fields and can override either.
  • Suggesting role fit. Some hiring teams enable an “AI assist” that scores how your profile lines up against role criteria. This is shown to recruiters as a hint — never as a pass/fail gate.
  • Drafting interview scorecards and summaries. After interviews, recruiters may use AI to draft notes from a transcript. The interviewer reviews and edits before anything is recorded.
  • Helping the recruiter write to you. Recruiters can ask an AI to help draft a message — they read and edit it before sending.

Where AI is NOT used

  • To make any decision that affects whether your application progresses.
  • To analyse facial expressions, voice tone, or body language.
  • To train external AI models on your data.
  • To rank you against other candidates without a recruiter reviewing.

Who runs the models

AI features call established providers (OpenAI and Anthropic, via Vercel’s AI Gateway) on the hiring organisation’s behalf. Your data is sent for processing only — these providers do not retain or train on it.

Your rights

Under UK / EU GDPR you have the right to ask whether AI was used in your case, to ask for human review of any automated decision, and to request access, correction, portability or erasure of your data. Send a request to dsar@kaidon.ai and we’ll route it to the right hiring organisation. We respond within 30 days.

EU AI Act

Kaidon recognises hiring as a high-risk AI use case under the EU AI Act. We maintain logs of AI-assisted recommendations, ensure a human reviewer is in the loop for every decision, monitor for bias by demographic group (where lawful and consented), and provide this transparency notice. Hiring organisations are required to keep their use within the same guard rails.

If something feels wrong

Email fairness@kaidon.ai and we’ll investigate. You can also escalate to your local data-protection authority — for the UK, that’s the ICO (ico.org.uk).
